      <title>Surgery Scheduling - Birmingham Office</title>
      <description><![CDATA[<p><b>Surgery Scheduling</b>&nbsp;<br></p><ul><li><span>The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for the daily coordination of the physicians surgery schedule, surgery patients and the entire surgery process.</span></li><li><span>This includes scheduling the pre-op visit, the surgery, pre-certification of insurance and making any financial arrangements with the patient to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and service.</span></li><li><span>The Surgery Scheduler is also responsible for gathering insurance authorizations and precertification for patients tests, procedures and other items that require a precertification.</span></li><li><span>This position works closely with the physicians, hospital and outpatient surgery departments, and other members of the health care team.</span></li><li><span>Strong customer service, organizational and communication skills are essential to this position.</span></li></ul><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Operations Functions</p><ul><li><span>Meets with the patient that has been identified by a provider as one that needs surgery, always displaying superior customer service.</span></li><li>Coordinates the surgery with the hospital or surgery center where the patient wishes to have the surgery.<br></li><li><span>Gathers all pertinent patient information to pre-certify with the patients insurance company to ensure accurate and timely payment for services rendered.</span></li><li><span>Makes any necessary financial arrangements for the surgery, including setting up payment plans.</span></li><li><span>Assures that all necessary consent forms and verifies them for completeness and placement in the patients chart.</span></li><li><span>Obtains precertification for procedures and tests.</span></li><li>Maintains confidentiality at all times regarding identifiable health information Additional Responsibilities Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p><br></p>]]></description>
